Instead, much of the attention is fixated on an apparent increase in the number of head injuries, particularly in light of concussions sidelining Cole Harbour’s Sidney Crosby and Halifax Mooseheads star Martin Frk, among others, for extended periods of time.
However, a local company is developing a device that it hopes will be able to reduce the number of future head injuries.
In partnership with the National Research Council’s Institute for Biodiagnostics, Mindful Scientific is planning to release what it has dubbed the Halifax Consciousness Scanner sometime in 2012.
