A Virginia mother was charged with reckless driving after she drove into oncoming traffic and hit a Toyota Tacoma. The
Virginia Beach car accident occurred on Tuesday morning, October19. The woman had two sons with her in the car.
Fortunately, there were no serious injuries. The woman, her children and the Toyota's driver were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Reckless driving is a broad term. In Virginia, it includes:
• Speeding in excess of 80 mph
• Speeding 20 mph or more above the posted speed limit

The maximum penalty is twelve months in jail, six months suspension of the driver’s Virginia driver’s license or six months suspension of the privilege to operate a motor vehicle in Virginia for out-of-state drivers, as well as a fine of up to $2,500.
