7-Year-Old Pedestrian Suffers Brain Injury When Struck by Vehicle

A 7-year-old Georgia resident suffered serious brain injuries when she was struck by a car while crossing an intersection recently, according to the Times-Herald.  Little Sierra Arnold remained in ICU at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta-Egleston and unable to speak at the time of the report, but her condition was imporoving, according to her mother.  In the serious car accident, the young pedestrian was walking with her grandmother and other relatives when the car struck the little girl.  The Herald reported that the pedestrians did not see the oncoming car because a truck was turning at the intersection, obstructing their view.  In addition to sustaining brain injuries, the child also suffered a broken leg, and she had to wear a cervical collar for a short time after the accident to support her neck and head.
