A little Virginia Beach Girl Hit by Car while Crossing the Street

A little Virginia Beach girl was transported to CHKD after she was hit by a car while crossing the street, according to the Virginian Pilot. The driver of the vehicle, Mark Richard Tietjen, fled the scene of the accident leaving the 11-year-old girl in the street. The accident happened at the intersection of Lynnhaven Parkway and Crimson Holly Lane. The driver has had many offenses in the past ranging from reckless driving, DWI, driving on a suspened license and speeding. Tietjen is now facing a felony charge that would put him in jail for ten years and as much as $2,500 in fines. The little girl is still in critical condition.
