Troopers responding to a possible disabled vehicle call at 2:49 a.m. found the victim dead in the eastbound lanes of I-495 near the Telegraph Road exit, just outside of downtown Alexandria, said Virginia State Police spokeswoman Deborah Cox.

The victim was found near his 2011 gray Nissan Frontier that, based on preliminary evidence, was involved in a minor collision in the same area, Cox said.

Police do not know why the man exited his truck while on the interstate.

A passenger in the car, Je Ki Ma, was found unconscious and uninjured in the truck, police said.
Ma, 42, of Philadelphia, was charged with public intoxication, Cox said.

Details leading up to Ma’s charges were unclear.

Police are still investigating the case.

State police ask anybody with information call 703-803-0027.
