A Chase City man died in a wreck in Appomattox County Saturday, one of nine people killed on Virginia roads over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Paul E. Lynch, 23, died when his Pontiac Grand Prix was hit head-on by a Ford Taurus traveling west in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 460, just outside of Pamplin, State Police said.
Police responded to the wreck, just east of Virginia 628, at about 8:30 p.m.
The Taurus’s driver, Maria L. Souza, 51, of Richmond, was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center with serious injuries.
Police said charges are pending.
