Chesapeake Woman Dies in Crash

A Chesapeake woman died in a two-vehicle car crash yesterday afternoon at the corner of Capri Circle and Portsmouth Boulevard, according to the Virginian Pilot. The woman was making a left turn onto Portsmouth Boulevard when a Chevrolet pickup truck hit the side of her 2006 Dodge. The 54-year-old woman, Theresa Dowell, died at the scene and her husband, who was the passenger, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was 19-years-old with two other passengers in the car, which none of them were hurt. The accident is still being investigated, but it looks like the 19-year-old was at fault, according to Wavy TV 10.
