Fatal Missouri - Bus Collision

Two school bus drivers involved in a double fatal collision along Interstate 44 more than a year ago were scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on a misdemeanor charge of careless and imprudent driving connected to the accident last August.

Neither defendant appeared in court today; both were represented by their attorneys, and rescheduled for a December hearing before Judge David Hoven.

76 year old Katherine Shackelford of St. James and 29 year old Kelly McEnnis-Mullenix were both issued a criminal summons on the charge on the one year anniversary of the crash last month.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports say Shackelford was the driver of a bus that crashed into the rear of a pick-up truck.  Patrol reports indicated Shackelford was 'inattentive' when her loaded school bus slammed into the back on the stationary pick-up which was stopped due to a previous accident.
