On January 29th the babysitter of the Natalynn Hamrick called the police because she became unresponsive, according to the Dailypress.com. After the police arrived and investigated the incident the police put out a search warrant for her mother, Carlience Hamrick. The child had marks on her legs from a heated object. The infant died on February 3rd due to an inflicted brain injury. Carlience Hamrick attested to shacking the little girl when she was trying to get her into her car seat, but Donna Price, spokesperson for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Office, stated shaken baby syndrome was not the cause of death. Carlience Hamrick is being held at Hampton Roads Regional Jail without bond for murder and felony child abuse charges.
