King George Va.| Westmoreland County, Virginia Crash - Fatality

Shortly before 8:00 p.m., Virginia State Police Trooper J. L. Barrack was called to the scene at the intersection of Route 205, James Monroe Highway and Route 631, Longfield Road.       

A 2004 Chevrolet Impala was traveling eastbound on Route 631 when the driver failed to yield the right of way to a 2005 F-350 Box Van that was traveling southbound on Route 205   The driver of the Impala, who was wearing his safety belt, died at the scene.  A female passenger, suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was flown by med-flight to VCU Medical Center.  It remains under investigation whether she was wearing her safety belt.

 


The driver of the Box van and two passengers were all wearing their safety belts.  They were not injured in the crash.  All were assessed by Emergency Medical Technicians at the scene

Speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash.  The Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the on-going state police investigation.  To read the full article; www.journalpress.com
