A Manassas woman was killed in a Saturday evening crash at U.S. 17 and Va. 28 in Bealeton.
Pamela Ellen Smith, 55, was riding in a 2001 Nissan Sentra when it was struck on the passenger side by a 2005 Ford Expedition whose driver ran a red light on U.S. 17, state police Sgt. Les Tyler said.
The Nissan's driver, 36-year-old Michael C. Drury of Sterling, was seriously injured in the wreck. He was taken to Fauquier Hospital, then later transferred to Inova Fairfax Hospital, Tyler said.
The Expedition's driver, Christianna L. Miller, 34, of Pennsylvania was not injured. She was charged with reckless driving, Tyler said.
Tyler said the Nissan was traveling on Va. 28 across U.S. 17 on a green light and the Expedition was in the left northbound lane of U.S. 17.
