Richmond, Va. | Dinwiddie County | Greyhound Bus - Van Collision - 13 Injured

Posted on Sep 07, 2011

Sgt. Thomas Molnar says in a news release that the accident occurred at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes near the 61 mile marker. Three people on the bus and 10 in the van suffered minor injuries.

Molnar says the van was attempting to change lanes to avoid slowing traffic when it struck the rear of the bus in the right lane.

The driver of the van, 27-year-old Quinnetta L. Williams, 27, was charged with reckless driving. Molnar says speed and weather conditions were factors in the crash.
The bus was carrying 35 passengers and was traveling from Raleigh, N.C., to Richmond.
