Rockingham County Virginia| Two School Bus Accidents-All Children Safe

A Rockingham County school bus, No. 27 for Linville Elementary School , was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on the 2700 Block of Harpine Highway, Route 42.

Crews were called to this accident around 7:45 Tuesday morning.

Virginia State Police Sgt. Frank Pyanoe says a Dodge pickup truck swerved and hit the school bus and another car while the bus was stopped picking up children.

The bus driver was Robert Adams, 52, of Harrisonburg.

The truck was driven by John Henry Miller, 79, from Broadway.

Amanda Carini from Broadway was driving the other vehicle that was hit.

She was taken to Rockingham Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Rockingham County Schools Superintendent Dr. Carol Fenn says, all seven children on board are safe.
Police say charges are pending.

Another accident was reported involving a Rockingham County school bus on Sun Valley Road, in Elkton, around 7:30 Tuesday morning.

That is reported as a multi-vehicle crash, as well.

One of the drivers, of one of the cars involved, was hurt and brought to an area hospital.
No word on the extent of their injuries.

Fenn reports all 18 children on board the bus are safe in this accident, as well.
