Southwest, Virginia | Rural Retreat, Va. Man Hurt in Motorcycle Crash

According to Hillsville Police Department Chief Steven Williams, Donnie Ray Brewster was in critical condition on Friday in Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after being injured in an approximately 10 p.m. single-vehicle crash on the U.S. 58 bypass.
Brewster and the driver of a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle, 39-year-old Donald Edward Miles II of Rural Retreat, were headed west on the bypass when Miles swerved to avoid a deer in the road and lost control of the bike.
Miles was treated and released at the scene.
No charges were placed, and the wreck remains under investigation, Williams said.
