The News Virginian reported on June 15, that a Staunton man surprised a city prosecutor Tuesday by pleading guilty to running over another man with a car last year.  The 30-year-old faces a maximun possible sentance of 10 years in prison on the felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident that caused an injury.  A separate hearing will determine his sentence. Police say Hinke was driving a maroon 1990 Ford Taurus in September when he used the car to knock down and run over Tony Burke, 49, also of Staunton. Burke's head injuries have requird frequent care and ongoing physical therapy. But Burke was walking Tuesday when he appeared in court for what is anticipated to be a trial.
