The family of a Virginia Beach man is filing a $25 million lawsuit in connection with his tragic death that occurred when a trash truck ran over him on the beach, according to The Ledger. Michael Knockett was reportedly sleeping on the beach shortly after 8:00 a.m. June 28 when the trash truck veered away from its planned path in order to collect a cooler that was abandoned. Although the City of Virginia Beach conducted investigations and claims that the truck driver was not at fault in the vehicle-pedestrian crash, the Knockett family's attorney says that driver Heather Boyd should have seen the sleeping man, who was in a lounge chair with a bright blue blanket. The City claims that Boyd never saw Knockett due to a "lack of visibility" and was not on her cell phone at the time of the fatal Virginia Beach crash.
