Woman Files Medical Negligence Claim After Death of Husband

A woman from West Virginia has filed a legal claim against one of the largest nursing and assisted living organizations, Beverly Enterprises, for the death of her husband in one of the organization's nursing facilities (according to the West Virginia Record news source).  After entering the Golden Living Center only four days earlier, Donald B. Hall began to suffer from a rapid accumulation of mucus in his lungs and throat on May 17, 2008.  Hall was found dead by facility staff one day later.  According to Donald Hall's widow, Pauline Hall, the defendants neglected and mistreated Mr. Hall, failing to meet the standard duty of care to him as a resident.  As a result, Mrs. Hall is seeking punitive and compensatory damages for the alleged wrongful death of her husband due to medical negligence.
