Woodbridge, Virginia Woman - Dies in Martland Car Crash

A 29-year-old  Woodbridge woman died early Sunday in a car crash in Silver Spring, Md.

Montgomery County police said that Marisol Angela Gutierrez, of the 3400 Vale Court in Woodbridge, died when the 2009 Hyundai Elantra she was riding in crashed into a BMW 325i at the intersection of U.S. 29 and Tech Road at 4:36 a.m.

According to the department's collision reconstruction unit, the driver of the BMW, Dorene Francine Ennels, 49, was travelling west on Tech Road and faced a flashing red light while the driver of the Elantra, Ryan Michael Segretto, 26, of Bristow, was driving south on U.S. 29 and faced a flashing yellow light.

When Ennels, of Baltimore, continued on Tech Road, the cars collided in the intersection, police said.

Police are still investigating and did not say whether Ennels ran the flashing red light.

Gutierrez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ennels and Segretto were  taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police said.
