What is Extended Harnessing?

Extending harnessing is keeping your child in a forward facing child restraint with a 5 - point harness beyond the normal 40lb recommendation.

The goal of extended harnessing is to let your child reach a safe size and maturity level before putting them in a proper booster.

Children under four - six years old are not at the same bone development stage as older children and their bodies are just not built to take the full force of a seat belt.  A 5-point harness distributes the forces across a greater area to diminish that force.
